Plot: There's a secret in ITALIA MARTIN's life, a terrible private fact whose roots must be found in a long past event...Story: There's a secret in ITALIA MARTIN's life, a terrible private fact whose roots must be found in a long past event. This event has forbidden her to return to her birthplace where she passed her childhood for many many years. When Italia goes back home to Codevigo after 55 years for her niece's marriage, she has to face her bad memories and those old images that enclose her secret. Memories and visions develop before her eyes... It's 1945 spring. Italia is fifteen years old and she's living a very peculiar moment in her life: she's falling in love. Italia is sensitive and independent although she was born and grew up in a farmers' family, owners of a little property in Veneto. Italia reads, daydreams and establishes a strong bond with the marvelous landscape that surrounds her. There are feelings as pain and anxiety that make her heart light up unreasonably and torment her as she was an heroin of a novel of her time. The object of her young infatuation is Farinacci: he is a boy a little older than her, exactly he is eighteen years old and is Sante's son. Sante is the Head of the Local Black Brigates who is childishly proud of his black shirt and his fascist faith. Farinacci - who always brings his loyal dog Isotta with him (this is a kind of distinctive sign for him) - is unbalanced in the relationship with Italia: sometimes he considers her just a little girl (they are also relatives) without realizing what this awakes in Italia, on the other side he dangerously flirts with her , inciting the girl's hopes.
